How to Turn Around Worrying About What Others Think

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Barbara Rose, Ph.D. I know what it feels like to worry about what other people will think of me. I used to feel tremendous fear and anxiety during that phase of my life when I was facing a choice of either moving forward into the field of broadcast journalism or into the field I am in now and will be in for as long as I live. Fear of what others will think has prevented many people I have spoken with from following their own truth. Instead, they held themselves back and remained unfulfilled inside. Nobody can force you to make the positive changes you would like to make in your life. Nobody can make your choices for you. Did you ever stop to consider whether all of the people whose opinions you may be concerned about ever come to you asking for guidance about their lives? Think about it for a moment. Who are “they” to begin with? Family, friends, neighbors, people who live in your part of the world? And what do they think? What if they told you they think the direction you are contemplating is fantastic and wonderful? What then? Would you then have a new worry about success or failure? Would you worry about whether you were good enough in your field of service? You see, all of the abovewhat people think, what you think, success, failure, being good enoughit all comes from the passion you feel about what you are doing, being, creating, and expressing from your heart. That is all that matters. Suppose you love to teach children. Does this mean that you need to receive the award for most popular teacher every year or a Ph.D. in education to make a true and lasting difference for the children? Dont people and children feel your care? Yes, they do. Dont you feel it when someone truly cares about you? Yes, you do. Do they need a certain title or a certain appearance to touch your heart and brighten your day? No, they dont. What matters most is purity of motive. Moreover, that is what you really feel coming from other people, their motives. If your motive is pure and from your heart, there is no such thing as failure. Whether a business succeeds or a financial venture profits has nothing to do with the goodness in your heart or with your true worth. No one gave you this goodness and no one can ever take it away. The feelings you have about yourself are completely based on how you view yourself. To transform your self-view to match your ideal, you can come to trust and rely on the process of receiving the higher perspective from God through your writings. Trusting the Process It does take time and many small experiences to build that trust. As you experience receiving new realizations, support, and the pure views you can have about yourself along with how to integrate these pure views, you will come to find that this process is so pure, and so priceless. It is important for you to realize that your current level of consciousness, those views that you currently hold about yourself truly cannot be transformed at the same level of awareness that you have now. If that were possible, then you would have already transformed your views of self, and you would feel pure self-love and acceptance. To receive the higher view or perspective, all you need to do is write from your heart and ask your Higher Self to give it to you. Then, re-read what you receive. I Don’t Like Mondays - A Study in Persistence with a Musical Slant

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Robin Piggott Who Ever said I dont like Mondays must have been on a different Planet? Best day in the week after all that week end guzzling and chilling out! Today here at Astral Towers we have had a real Saddam Hussein of a Monday. Actually all positiveso I am going to share some of the good stuff with you that will definitely make a difference to your Marketing efforts, if you will only learn the meaning of the word Persistence. Actually it was Bob, sorry Sir Bob Geldof who is known the world over for his remarkable feat in setting Up and Organising Live Aid in 1985, who coined the phrase with one of the Boomtown Rats hit Singles (are they called singles anymore?) in the late Seventies. Being rather fortunate (very) to be living in Dublin at that time and trying to impress my Wife- to- be with what I considered to be, an Encyclopaedic knowledge of the Music scene by dragging her off to, here a gig there-a gig, at every opportunity, it was my main purpose in life to absorb the music scene. Marketing was some way off at this stage although the seeds were being sown. One of those gigs that turned out to be life changing, became a memory stamped indelibly on the mind youve guessed it, a Rats gig at a small but swish Hotel in Dalkey, Co. Dublin called the Cliff Castle. No longer a Hotel I believe. It was the first time we had seen Bob and the gang and while the audience numbered about 45 souls (!) Bob showed what was to come by the most energetic performance I had seen in 8 years! Who would have thought a raggle taggle semi punk Band would give birth to a World Icon? What happened 8 years earlier in 1969? Well, my first glimpse of Rory Gallagher and Taste at the Round House in London. There is an article published about this remarkable Blues player at a rather well known Directory which shall remain nameless. It is no surprise that success comes with massive, persistent, action, in all walks of life and both these Bands went on to much greater things as a result of complete Dedication and Persistence although the Rats career was rather short lived. Bob as we all know went onto become one of the Pioneers of the 20th Century and will go down in history as the little guy from suburban Dublin who had a dream and who wouldnt take no for an answer! He was never afraid to speak his mind even on his first Guest appearances on the Late Late show which became one of the longest running T.V shows in history! Thanks in no small way to Sir Bob and his total non subservience to the Establishment! Belief in oneself, which is an admirable quality, but painfully difficult to sustain during periods of upheaval in ones life, is the key to success ultimately. Persistence should be the buzzword that you live by, in what ever field you choose to operate in. How can you maintain that Persistence when it all seems to be coming down around you? I guess the only way to sustain this much needed momentum, is to become a sponge and soak up every possible idea that you can and learn from the struggles and ultimate success of others. This means taking on board new ideas even if they are contrary to what you previously believed or were aware of. It means spending time with others who have a success mentality and not getting sucked into any level of negativity. It means never giving up until you have succeeded. Failure and sometimes multiple failures are just a rather unpleasant phase you have to go through until you are ready to handle what success will bring! In the early days of a salesmans career it is often the last call on a Friday that will give you the success you have been looking for all the week and that will break the feeling of failure. You knowgoing the extra mile, doing the extra call making one more appointment. Its a fantastic and exhilarating feeling to make that last call and make the sale when all you wanted to do is to slink home and wish the week hadnt happened! Life will never be the same when you have put into practise the Extra Mile Technique a few times and hey presto you find it actually works! Pretty much every successful Entrepreneur, in every field, has reached the end of the week without a sale, or the end of the month in debt, at some stage in their lives until the Persistency Button gets activated. Then its watch out Success here we come! Is there life after failure? Robin Piggott in his lengthy life has learnt one thing and that is that when the chips are down you just got to pick yourself up and aim for Top Gear and the Open Road!He runs a Driving School in Limerick, Ireland and is providing help and assistance to Learner Drivers from all ends of the Planet.Stop by the Web Site and blogs for a straight-up message. http://www.astralmotoring.ie http://NetNewbieProfits.blogspot.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Robin_Piggott http://EzineArticles.com/?I-Dont-Like-Mondays—A-Study-in-Persistence-with-a–Musical-Slant&id=136790 incest an vids because young where little many incest see free any incest this movie from clips on incest being fourm them

Long Stem Red Roses

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Damian Sofsian Die-hard fans of style and elegance love long stem red roses. They are sometimes double the size of the typical red rose, and can be almost as graceful as a tall lady who carries her height with charm and class, and makes her presence felt effortlessly. Long stem red roses adorn long stem vases beautifully. They are particularly noticeable in large spaces. A bouquet of long stem red roses is considered perfect for a lounge, an art gallery, a massive hotel lobby, the reception area of a large office, museums, or simply a really large office. Places with high ceilings often have them displayed rather well. A bouquet of long stem red roses is also considered appropriate for a momentous occasion, such as an engagement, a wedding, a graduation celebration, a promotion, a landmark anniversary Christmas and of course, Valentine’s Day. However, there are some momentous occasions that go beyond the traditional definition. That’s really the beauty of the long stem red rose. It speaks volumes about love. A friend who is ill and in hospital for a prolonged period, can smile at the site of a bouquet of long stem red roses in even the most cheerful hospital room. A paramour who has been waiting endlessly at the entrance of a movie theater deserves a bouquet of long stem red roses. A parent who is lonely yearns for one. A sibling who is struggling with pressures at college anyone who needs reassurance will appreciate the love that accompanies the gift of long stem roses. The long stem red rose offers the sender or the buyer a vocabulary, which can be far more moving than words. People sometimes want it for themselves after a bad day or on a lonely Friday night. Long stem red roses can brighten up gloomy homes, and can fill gloomy lives with their surreal beauty. Their presence can be consuming, and their impact can be life-long. There aren’t too many people who can forget the day they bought, sent or received a bouquet of long stem red roses. The long stem red rose amplifies the joy of giving and receiving and fills the air with love and warmth. It thrives in pleasant memories, and adds a sparkle to them each time. Red Roses provides detailed information about red roses, red rose bouquets, long stem red roses, red rose petals and more. Red Roses is the sister site of Send Easter Flowers. Cell Phones Evolve And So Do The Worries

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Donna_Johnson_Edwards]Donna Johnson Edwards When I was a youngster I was among a very few latchkey kids in our neighborhood, but today, according to the Census Bureau, at least seven million latchkey children return to an empty house on any given afternoon. Most of us with latchkey kids have created a list of rules for them to follow, covering topics such as snacks, strangers at the door, phone calls, etc. They are pretty much the same ones our parents outlined for us as kids. But today, we have a growing list of additional worries to address, such as television programs, video games, computer programs such as instant messaging, and use of the Internet. A couple of years ago, my daughter was old enough to walk to her grandmothers house after school. I wrestled with the idea, but finally conceded that she was responsible and mature enough to handle the three-block trek on her own. There were some days when an after school activity she forgot to tell us about delayed her and caused everyone to worry. And sometimes even her grandmother lost track of time and wasnt there to greet her. We decided that she might be better off with a cell phone. I searched the Internet and found out what lots of experts and other parents had to say on the topic. I contacted her school to learn what their rules were regarding cell phones and then created a list of our own rules. She is required to leave the cell phone off during school hours and has a cutoff time each school night for all phone calls. She is allowed to make long-distance calls to her friends on weekends and can talk as long as she wants providing her chores and homework are done. She got a camera phone and has had some fun taking photos of her dogs and friends. All in all, she has done a good job of managing the responsibility. The only problems we have are that she is constantly losing her charger, forgetting to recharge and forgetting to turn on the phone when she should. Hum, sounds just like some adults I know! But I digress! I remember the first cell phone I had it was called a bag phone and it weighed about five pounds. It had to remain plugged into the lighter in my mommy-mobile but it was there in case I needed emergency assistance or to find out if my husband wanted something in particular for dinner when I stopped at Ukrops. Gee, portable phones have come a long way! I just read that Palm has announced it will offer Microsoft Windows Mobile software on its Treo smartphones. The phones, the first of which will be available from Verizon Wireless on its national broadband network, will permit calls, e-mail, Internet access, Office Mobile and more. I might actually like one of those if the buttons and screen are large enough for my feeble fingers and aging eyes. On another front, the federal government is considering a national all-hazards system to alert you via text message on your cell phone in the event of a disaster or attack directly affecting your area. You could receive Amber Alerts and the like on web-enabled devices. A public-warning solution such as this will require legislation to at the federal, state and local levels to create standards for interoperability as well as integrated technology so it isnt likely to be available in the very near term. This would however be a significant improvement over the 50-year-old system, developed during the cold war, which relies on radio and television broadcasts to communicate emergency news. With all the newfangled technology we have now, not many of us are carrying a portable radio in our pockets. You can bet though, that a cell phone or two and a BlackBerry device are sure to be found in just about any high-tech gals handbag! As the technologies continue to advance at a rapid pace, we are using our phones as business tools for e-mail, calendars and text messages and industry experts say it will not be long before we can use specially equipped phones instead of credit cards. Oh my, that could get us in trouble! And, frankly, as they do with most new technology, our kids are embracing new cell phone technology at a rapid pace. Today there are so many things you can do with a cell phone, I cant even keep track of them all. For example, I was recently on a business trip and the mobile phone for one member of the team was constantly sounding. Gosh, I thought, he is certainly a busy man, and then I found out that he was receiving stats on a sporting event! And though I havent personally witnessed this, I understand that downloading images of Playmates on cell phones is the latest fad in 17 countries. Playboy has announced plans to develop adult-theme games and ring tones for cell phones in the U.S. Oh great; yet another distraction for every prepubescent boy and many of my male coworkers. As with every technology come the associated risks such as hackers targeting the data on our mobile devices and creating malicious software specifically designed to exploit all of those innovative features! The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) has developed hardware-based standards for mobile devices, to thwart criminals and to provide greater control by cell phone operators. Although hardware-based security is not new to the industry, manufacturers have yet to standardize, which keeps costs higher for everyone. In addition, several manufacturers have created cell phones designed specifically for younger kids, which include many parental control features, simple buttons, flashy designs and limits on permissions for incoming and outgoing calls. If you have a young child who needs a cell phone, consider the TicTalk by Enfora or the Firefly by Firefly Mobile. However for teenagers (and possibly those in a corporate environment) there is another solution on the horizon. RuleSpace has developed a parental control solution for mobile providers that rates mobile content on the fly. Mobile operators can offer subscribers the ability to block inappropriate content from web-enabled devices. In other words, Johnny cant look at porn and staff can keep focused on the work at hand! James Dirksen, vice president of operations for RuleSpace, said, The biggest difference between the traditional Internet and the mobile web is the size of the content. The technology weve developed is capable of recognizing inappropriate content based on a much smaller message that is going to a cell phone versus a PC. So despite the fact that with every emerging technology there is a corresponding threat, we can be thankful that there are an equal number of technologists working hard to combat those threats. If we could put our techno-teenagers to work developing technological solutions, we would have a real home run and could all be notified of it on our mobile devices! Ring-beep you have web-mail! Homeopathy

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Craig Burton Homeopathy is one of the most widely used forms of medicine in the world today. (1) How homeopathy works Homeo - same, pathos - suffering Homeopathy takes the principal known as the law of similars or “like cures like” the strategy also behind immunizations. This means that a substance that can cause the disease can also cure it. If coffee leaves one wide awake then a homeopath may use potentised (diluted) coffee or coffea 200C as it’s known to relieve insomnia. (2) Founder of Homeopathy Homeopathy as it is known today was developed over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann, a German doctor and chemist. He believed that “The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gently and permanent restoration of health, or removal and annihilation of the disease in its whole extent, in the shortest, most reliable and most harmless way, on easily comprehensible principles.” (1) How scientific is Homeopathy? According to the majority of modern mainstream medical professionals, homeopathy is long way from being scientific and its effectiveness needs a long stretch of the imagination. However in 1991 the British Medical Journal published an extensive review article by a group of Dutch researchers on the effectiveness of Homeopathy. They reviewed 107 Homeopathy clinical trials that had been published in reputable medical journals. 77 trials showed that Homeopathy worked, so they evaluated the methodology to see how carefully the trials were conducted - expecting to see poorly performed trials. To their surprise they found instead, that the clear majority of those more rigorous trials homeopathy proved to be effective. “Based on the evidence we would be ready to accept that homeopathy can be efficacious, if only the mechanism of action were more plausible” (2) How are Homeopathic remedies prepared? Remedies are derived from plant, mineral, or animal substances. The remedy begins as a liquid solution taken through a series of dilution steps involving shaking or succession to potentise it. It then turns into a tiny sugar tasting ball that you dissolve in the mouth, which is a good reason for scepticism as it tastes too good to be medicine. Where can I find out more? In the UK I recommend contacting the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths at www.a-r-h.org for a registered practitioner. If you are on a budget and curious there are also discounted clinics offered by final year students under the eyes of supervisors. Alternatively most countries have a registered body that can be found through a google search. Video Calling Is On The Way, Are You Ready For It?

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dhruba_M]Dhruba M Video calling is on the way in USA. Cingular is planning to launch video calling service this year. I am sure other providers will not be far behind. But are you well equipped for that? Is your mobile phone has all minimum requirement what video calling need? First of all let us take a quick look at what video calling is? In short it can be describe as a service that allows wireless phone users to see each other in the mobile phone screen while talking. The service allows users to send a live video stream to a recipient during a standard voice call. Beginning with a normal phone call, customers can hit one button to add a live video stream, allowing the called party to see caller while they’re talking. The service also allows customers to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call.Currently mobile service providers in USA mostly using 2G network. The 2G (second-generation) networks of the 1990s handle voice, caller ID, and text messaging, but the data transfer rate is not capable of transmitting video. The more recent 2.5G networks are faster, but their speeds of 30 to 90Kbps arent quick enough to support full-motion, real-time video. For video calling 3G network is the solution, with transmission speeds ranging from 144Kbps to 2.4Mbps, 3G is nearly as fast as high-speed cable modems. While service provider going to use 3G network to transfer data, your mobile also should be compatible with 3G. You should have 3G mobile phone which is HSDPA(High-speed Downlink packet access) enabled. Also your phone should have a front and back camera. The back camera shoots photos and videos, and the front camera focuses on the user to transmit the users image to the recipient. Pretty interesting huh!!!! But if you dont have 3G mobile now, dont worry, your current mobile is good enough until video calling is supported by service provider. But if you are planning to change your current mobile phone, may be you should think about buying a 3G one.
